Why working as a ‘temp’ could work for you!
The one thing that we know how to do, above all else, is find people work and fast!
Although all of our positions will lead to permanent placement with the right amount of hard work, as we have long standing relationships with our clients, it’s very common that we can get you into a role with an immediate start! This isn’t always because a company has a low staff retention like a lot of people think, it could be that they need to keep up with customer demand and they may need staff urgently to fulfil that, which means the hiring process will often be quite quick.
As you may be able to tell from our vacancies, the roles we supply can range from production, to agriculture, to management and administration.
If you’re looking for a new position, it can be daunting knowing whether or not you’ll fit the company and whether you’ll be happy in your new job, that’s where we come in – Temp work could just be the solution for that!
Let’s take a look at some of the benefits…
You can (mostly) pick and choose your shifts
From our experience, people need flexibility in the workplace! Being given the advantage of choosing from a selection of shifts and positions can be a huge advantage to some people. You need to be able to fit a job around your lifestyle in order for it to be successful. Whether you prefer to work, days, nights, only weekdays or even only weekends, the chances are we have something that suits you!
Weekly Pay
One thing I learnt when starting my position, is that weekly pay, although sounds like a short-term solution, can be a huge advantage in the way in which you manage your money!
In most permanent, salaried jobs, you’re paid on a month-to-month basis. This can be great if you want a large sum of money in one go each month, but if you budget accordingly, weekly pay can be a lot less daunting!
Not only does it mean that you can’t blow all your wages in one go, but also your money will always be consistent and regular! It also means that you have to wait less time to receive your first pay! With monthly pay and working in hand, it often leaves you without an income for a number of weeks, with weekly pay, you only have to wait up to 2 weeks in most cases. Plus, you’re still entitled to your 28 days holiday per year (this runs on a pro-rata basis).
“Try before you buy”
Working as a temp has many benefits, but one that we have seen to be quite popular, is the idea that you can get to know a company before you commit to them fully.
You can ensure that you enjoy the job, are happy with the ages and get used to environment before you sign your life away. Once you start, if you then decided within a few weeks that the job isn’t for you, we can often find you a new placement quickly and fuss free!
Whereas, on the other hand, if you know that you’re enjoying your job, all you need to do is continue to work hard, and you will no doubt gain a permanent contract with that client! (It’s very rare that we take on a client that doesn’t offer permanent placements for our temps!) All you need to do is prove that you are a committed and reliable employee.
