
Bakery Mixers – Welshpool
We are currently undergoing recruitment for Bakery Mixers to join our client in the Welshpool area.
- 07:00 – 15:00
- Monday – Friday
- £12.21 per hour (This will increase to £13.25 after a successful training period).
Main roles and responsibilities:
- Weigh, measure, and prepare ingredients according to specific formulas and production instructions.
- Operate large-scale industrial mixers, blenders, and related equipment.
- Monitor mixing times, temperatures, and batch consistencies.
- Adjust ingredient quantities or mixing times to ensure consistency based on texture, visual appearance, and standard quality specifications.
- Document all batches, including any adjustments made during the mixing process.
- Ensure all raw materials meet quality standards before use.
- Conduct visual and texture inspections to verify batch quality.
- Collaborate with QA team to report any inconsistencies or deviations.
- Maintain batch traceability records for food safety and audit purposes.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work areas before and after each shift or batch run.
- Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and food safety protocols.
- Wear and maintain required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Report mechanical issues or unsafe conditions immediately to supervisors.
- Coordinate with bakers, line operators, and production supervisors to meet shift goals.
- Communicate clearly during shift handovers about batch status, changes, or issues.
- Assist in training new team members as directed.
Skills and requirements
- Ability to read and interpret production recipes and safety instructions.
- Basic numeracy skills for measurement and scaling.
- Familiarity with automated mixing equipment and large-scale baking operations is advantageous.
- Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, SQF, etc.) is beneficial.
- Must be able to undertake heavy lifting tasks on a regular basis
- Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods during shifts.
- Work in a climate-controlled but occasionally cold or warm production environment.
- Have the ability to work with new internal computing systems.
