We are recruiting for a CNC Machinist based in the Newtown area. As a successful candidate, you would be expected to work as part of a team of engineers and you will be responsible for the programming, setting and operation of various conventional and CNC Machine tools.

The starting rate for this position is between £12.50 - £13.00, dependent on experience, and the working hours are as follows:

• Monday – Friday
• 08:00 – 16:00

Main roles and responsibilities:

• To set up and operate CNC machines based on blueprints and job specifications
• Program the CNC machines or be able to adjust pre-existing programmes
• Perform tool changes, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting to resolve issues during production.
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy, using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, or CAD files.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during machine operation.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled CNC Machinist.
• Skilled on both manual and CNC lathes and mills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to plan the job.
• Strong organisational skills.
