
Mill Operative – Wrexham
We’re currently ongoing recruitment for a Mill Operative to join our client in the Wrexham area. This is a full time position with a starting salary of £29,000 per annum, working hours are as follows:
- 4 on, 4 off
- 2 Days: 06:00 – 18:00
- 2 Days 18:00 – 06:00
Main roles and responsibilities:
- Operate mill machinery and equipment to produce products that meet customer specifications, ensuring smooth production and timely delivery.
- Maintain high physical quality standards during the milling process, checking for consistency and avoiding cross-contamination.
- Operate all mill machinery safely and effectively, adhering to safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Monitor machinery performance and troubleshoot minor issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimum efficiency.
- Adhere to detailed work instructions and operational procedures to maintain product integrity and consistency.
- Be proactive in preventing cross-contamination during milling by following strict production protocols and utilizing manual production aids where necessary.
- Accurately complete and maintain all production records, ensuring that they are clear, legible, and in compliance with required work instructions.
- Identify, report, and, when necessary, assist in resolving any defects or maintenance issues that may arise with milling equipment.
- Participate in regular stocktaking activities to ensure inventory levels of raw materials and finished products are correctly tracked and managed.
- the handling and storage of finished product bins to ensure proper organization and avoid product mix-ups.
- Accurately operate the weighbridge to ensure proper weighing of materials and products for dispatch or storage.
Skills and Qualities:
- Familiarity with milling equipment and processes.
- Ability to identify minor defects or inconsistencies.
- Quick thinking to address production challenges.
- Capability to lift heavy materials and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for measurements and record-keeping.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively.
- Ability to work well in industrial or agricultural settings, often noisy or dusty.
- Ability to commit to the set shift patterns
- High emphasis on following safety procedures due to working with heavy machinery.
