Studio Art Worker and Embellishment Printer – Oswestry
We’re currently undergoing recruitment for a Studio Artworker and Embellishment Printer to join our exciting client in the Oswestry area.
The purpose of this role will be to originate artwork proofs for print productions and prepare the designs. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting, adapting and suggesting design options for reproduction in screen printing, heat transfer and digital printing.
This is a part time position, with a starting salary of £23,595 per annum.
- Monday – Wednesday
- 09:00 – 17:00
- 22.5 Hours per week
- £12.10 per hour
Main roles and responsibilities:
- Liaising with customers via email and phone for artwork approvals
- Manage the day to day running of printing equipment and processes in the department
- Use the Adobe creative suite to create deigns, create proofs and to output high quality accurate film positives for the screen productions.
- Ensure accurate communications with customers at all times
- Have a clear communication with relevant departments of any changes and updates
- Monitor and update the order status of items in the production system in a timely manner
- Purchasing of studio / process consumables and checking goods received for
accuracy to order - Advise the customer service and business development teams on the appropriate methods and suitability for artwork.
- Sign off al first drafts of print techniques, always ensuring the highest accuracy.
- Operate all in house printing equipment
- Any other reasonable request, as required.
Skills and Qualities:
- Proficiency in both Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator.
- Foundation, HND or Degree in related subject area would be advantageous
- An interest in surface pattern, photography and film making, website layout and design would be desirable
- A high level of competence and speed with design software programmes
- Strong telephone manner and a natural ability to deal with customers daily
- Excellent organisational skills
- Flexible and innovative approach to resolving design problems
