3.5T Van Driver / Yard Operative – Whitchurch

Pay Rate:

• £12.71 per hour
• Pay increase available following successful completion of the training and probation period
• Performance-based bonus scheme available after training and probation

Hours:

• 40–55 hours per week
• Overtime opportunities available depending on business requirements

We are currently recruiting for a hardworking and reliable 3.5T Van Driver / Yard Operative to join a growing team based in Whitchurch. This is a varied and hands-on role that combines driving duties with yard work and support at customer sites, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a physically active working environment and no two days being the same.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a 3.5-tonne vehicle to customer locations, assisting with operational activities both on-site and in the yard, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and organisation are maintained at all times. You will play an important role in supporting daily operations and representing the company professionally when interacting with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operating and driving a 3.5T van to customer and client locations
• Loading, unloading, and transporting equipment and materials as required
• Assisting with day-to-day yard operations, ensuring the site remains organised and efficient
• Supporting colleagues at customer sites with operational and manual tasks
• Carrying out cleaning duties within the yard, vehicles, equipment, and client locations where required
• Performing vehicle checks and reporting any defects or maintenance issues
• Following health and safety procedures at all times
• Providing a professional and courteous service when interacting with customers and clients

Requirements:

• Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
• Previous experience driving a 3.5T vehicle is advantageous but not essential
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a positive attitude
• Comfortable carrying out physical and manual work
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a professional manner
• Flexible approach to working hours when required
