Business development Executive – Wem

Location: Wem, Shropshire

We are currently recruiting a Sales Representative to join our expanding Sales department.

You will be responsible for identifying potential customers, building relationships, and driving revenue by promoting and selling Markorah's recycling services across our UK sites.

The role requires great communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking to meet sales targets and support business growth.

 

Pay: £30 - £35k per annum - Depending on experience

Bonus Pay - Considerable amount commision

Monday - Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and market research.
  • Engage with potential customers to understand their needs and present suitable products or solutions.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and explain features, benefits, and pricing clearly.
  • Negotiate contracts and close sales while maintaining profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and maintain a sales pipeline using database to track interactions and progress.
  • Build long-term customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets set by the company.
  • Collaborate with site managers & group staff informing of sales achieved & inbound deliveries.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and provide insights on market trends and Nationwide competitor activity.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident negotiation and closing abilities
  • Ability to understand customer needs and offer tailored solutions
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
  • Experience using Excel & Word
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good organisational and time‑management skills
  • Prior sales experience is required

Performance Indicators

  • Sales revenue achieved
  • Number of new accounts acquired
  • Customer retention and satisfaction
  • Lead conversion rate
  • Accuracy and timeliness of reporting

Additional information

Full clean driving license required

Some nationwide travel / over nights maybe occasionally be required when there is a need to visit clients and other Markorah branches within our network.
