We are currently undergoing recruitment for a Class 2 HGV Driver to join our client in the Shrewsbury area.

• £14.00 per hour
• Full Time
• Additional ‘Nights Out’ allowance
• Truck is a MAN TGL-280 18 Ton Sleeper Curtain with Taillift.
• Opportunities to progress to Class 1 driving as the fleet grows.

Main roles and responsibilities:

• Safely operate Class 2 curtain-side lorries, adhering to all UK and EU driving regulations.
• Transport goods and materials to various locations across the UK and occasionally to international exhibitions.
• Ensure safe loading, securing, and unloading of goods using the taillift and curtain-side system.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report any maintenance or mechanical issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and vehicle logs in compliance with regulations.
• Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while ensuring safety and fuel efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures during transport and loading operations.

Skills and Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years’ driving experience (commercial driving experience essential).
• Familiarity with curtain-side lorries and load securing procedures.
• Clean driving record with excellent road awareness and safety focus.
• Physically fit and capable of handling loading/unloading duties.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently while managing time effectively.
• Class 1 licence is beneficial but not essential.
