
Production Manager
We’re currently undergoing recruitment for a Production Manager for our newest client.

Main roles and responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations within the packing hall, including 3 vertical form-fill-seal machines.
- Deliver production schedules on time, balancing efficiency, quality, and consistency.
- Monitor machine performance, minimise downtime, and implement corrective actions and improvements.
- Lead, train, and motivate production staff to achieve targets and maintain safe working practices.
- Allocate labour effectively across shifts, ensuring resource optimisation.
- Build a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (BRC/IFS or equivalent).
- Oversee allergen controls, product traceability, and customer/regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the Technical/QA teams to ensure quality checks are completed and non-conformances resolved promptly.
- Supervise receipt, handling, and storage of raw materials (nuts, seeds, dried fruits).
- Ensure finished goods are accurately managed, rotated, and ready for dispatch.
- Collaborate with supply chain and warehouse teams to minimise waste and maintain accurate stock records.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimise throughput and reduce waste.
- Analyse production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for efficiency gains.
- Support new product launches, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.
- Maintain a safe and compliant working environment in line with company policies and legal requirements.
- Ensure all staff follow proper manual handling, PPE usage, and machine safety procedures.
Skills and Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Production Manager or Supervisory role within food manufacturing/packaging.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and quality compliance (BRC/IFS).
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to coach and motivate teams.
- Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
- Proficient in using production data for performance analysis and decision-making.
